Sad how the casino plays it both ways. They sue the card manufacturer, who settled out of court, for not shuffling the cards AND they get their money back from the players. Well, not all of it, some people must have been smart enough to walk away while they could, as they have not recovered 1 million in chips.
The whole thing stinks. If one of their games malfunctioned and they were beating the players out of their money, there would be no recovery on the players part.
They mention in the article, that the casino would not have gone after the money, if the players dropped other claims. It doesn't discuss what those claims were (sounds like the casino held the players against their will), and whether the players received any damages for those claims. Alot of details left out of this picture.
It continues to remind me why I don't care to gamble in a casino anymore."If life throws you curve balls, sit on it, and put it in the 2nd deck"..... yeah, well, that's nice, but I could never hit a damn curve ball.

How many times has a player lost a jackpot hit on a slot machine, because it malfunctioned? Yet had a player could dump hundreds or thousands into a defective machine that will never pay out, and never be the wiser, nor receive their money back. Even if down the road, some state tech, discovers the defective machine, I highly doubt anyone tries to reimburse the players. The machine just gets pulled for repair or replacement, with no damages to the players who have been screwed. IT's bullsht.
It's like making a coach vacate wins. cheat cheat cheat, and that's the penalty? The casino can screw players over and over, but when the player finds a loop, oh no, confiscate the chips/deny payment and head to court."If life throws you curve balls, sit on it, and put it in the 2nd deck"..... yeah, well, that's nice, but I could never hit a damn curve ball.
